Neuschwanstein Castle




Neuschwanstein Castle is a must see if you are fortunate to be traveling in Germany. The area and the castle itself is absolutely breathtaking. The castle is located on top of the mountain and you can get there by hiking, bus ride, or carriage ride. My parents and I opted for the bus ride, since we had three toddlers accompanying us, and we walked back down. This was perfect! The kids were not too tired and they got to take in all the scenery around them.

Our first stop when we arrived on top was Marienbrücke. This is the nearby bridge where most of my castle photos are taken. I wish I could have taken a picture of the bridge from the castle to show you. It was so crowded and I was completely terrified at first. I was sure the weight from all of us would bring the bridge crashing down. Especially since the wooden floor boards would bend and wiggle when pressure was applied!  I was more comfortable once the kids were off and I could focus on taking photos without worrying about them falling off. Not that they would have, mind you...I am just a more worrisome person now that I am a mother!

I wish we had the opportunity to go inside the castle, but since we had time restraints, in wasn't in the agenda for the day. Hopefully another time! Below is a link full of information on Neuschwanstein.
